Indonesian motor company releases 2000 really cute turtles off of Serangan Island
Companies dealing in cars arenāt exactly reputed to be green and environment-friendly, especially in Indonesia, but one such company just released 2,000 adorable turtle hatchlings.
The turtle release was made by PT. Hino as a part of a project in corporate social responsibility this Wednesday, reported Tribun Bali. The company set the turtle hatchlings and two adult turtles free off of Serangan Island in coordination with the Bali Turtle Island Development (BTID), a conservation organization that breeds sea turtles and releases them into the environment.
Apparently BTID is regularly responsible for releasing baby turtles, but itās just so much more newsworthy when the conservation work is done by a vehicles company. Yup, this will take our attention for just a moment off of the staggering pollution and traffic problems Indonesia has caused in large part by having so many vehicles on the road. But only for a moment.
