Dream weddings are turning into weddings from hell. We can’t help but feel for the many couples that have reportedly been scammed by the Bali destination wedding company that just went belly up, Bali D’Luxe.

Reports are surfacing of countless couples’ sob stories. Some couples never received their wedding photos and video which they already paid for, others never got their marriage certificate, while some even arrived in Bali only to discover nothing had been booked but their credit cards had still been charged.

The private Perth-based company that has more than 20 years of Bali wedding planning experience is being liquidated, according to reports from numerous sources, including The West Australian

The Western Australian Department of Commerce has put an alert out about the company after its consumer protection agency received so many complaints. The department says Catherine Williams from Wanneroo, West Australia is the business’ sole director and voluntarily shut the business down.

A spokesman from the consumer protection agency, says nine officinal complaints have been made to date, but he believes many more couples who have also been screwed over by Bali D’Luxe have yet to come forward. The agency puts its current estimate of money squandered at $180,000 according to an article published by news.com.AU
