Half a joint put New Zealander Leeza Ormsby behind bars in Bali’s infamous Kerobokan Prision. Now, after nine months later, the kiwi is reportedly getting out early for good behavior

Ormsby could have stayed in the “Hotel Kerobokan” for up to 12 years under Indonesian law, but thanks to a “lenient” sentence of just 10 months, her check out time isn’t so severe and she even got a month knocked off for good behavior. She is slated to leave her cell on November 12, reported the AAP

It was a drug raid at her friend’s holiday Bali villa that got Ormsby into trouble in the first place. Ormbsby claims she was only grabbing her towel and laptop from the villa, when police acted on a tip of a “drug party.” She later told the court she had a history of drug use. Police also unsuccessfully tried to link her to MDMA and hashish that was allegedly found in the villa.

Upon her release, Ormsby reportedly should be deported back to New Zealand. Maybe there she can reunite with her alleged ex-lover, Aussie DJ Marco Mazzucco who was also questioned by police, but permitted to go home.
