Looking for a party with hot surfers? Like with real surfers, not the ones on holiday learning the for the first time. Then surfs up in Keramas, east Bali. On October 8-12, some of the best surfers in the world will make their way to Bali for the Komune Bali Pro. Surf hard, play hard, the event will feature around-the-clock entertainment with DJs and other fun stuff.

The competition is a 1-Star Qualifying Series (QS) of the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP), the sole-governing body of professional surfing.

The current Asian Surfing Championship (ASC) ratings leader is actually Balinese. Made Widiarta, from Kuta, is thrilled to compete on his own turf, according to a press release from ASP

“I’m just stoked the ASP is bringing back the QS to Indonesia,” Widiarta said. “Even though it’s a 1-Star we are all pretty excited about it and hope this is the start of more QS events coming to Bali and throughout Indonesia. Indo has so many good waves and good surfers and we want the world to see.”

Other headlining surfers include vets Dean Morrison and Nathan Webster, in addition to rising stars Kai Hing, Oney Anwar, Mitch Parkinson and Alex and Koa Smith.

They don’t call Bali surfer’s paradise for nothing. “The conditions for night surfing expression sessions and practice will also be optimum with the full moon and tides coming in again during the evening,” said Tony Cannon, co-owner of Komune Bali.
